What to Do When Remodeling your Bathroom

in Home & Family - Landscaping
by Lindsay Parker

When you finally decide that it’s time to put together your dream bathroom you’ll find out all too soon how big of a job it really is. You really need to research all the fixtures and designs you want before hand and have it all laid out and ready to go.

When you first decide that you are going to remodel your bathroom, you really need to focus a couple weeks on the design process. Just put yourself in design mode and go out and start searching for the type of bathroom you want to have.

Don’t go too far from the design of the rest of your home. You want your decorations and bathroom fixtures to be able to flow with the rest of the rooms in your home.

An amateur mistake in design is to have every room in your home decorated differently. This is one of the worst things you can do. You need to decide first what type of design your home follows most closely with, whether it is traditional, modern, etc.

When you pick out the design that will flow well with the rest of your home, it’s time to head out and start looking at fixtures. There are a lot of them to look through.

The fixtures and fittings all should blend well together. It doesn’t mean that they all have to be the same, just in the same category or group. You would never want a faucet fixture to be completely different from a tub fixture in design and category terms.

You might even want to bring in a professional that you trust to help you style or see what fixtures go well with what. It is such a big job that it would be well worth your money to hire professionals to put them all in.

If this is your dream bathroom or even just touching it up it can be a little overwhelming. Bring in a professional to help take some of the stress away. You will get results that will last too.

Not many people know the differences that there are between hard water and soft water. These really can make all the difference in your home. You can also save money now and in the long run depending on which one you choose for your family.

The major difference in hard water and soft water is that hard water has a lot of dissolved minerals, like calcium and magnesium. Soft water only has sodium because is it treated to have only one ion. This difference doesn’t look like it would be that big of a deal but the cause and effects from it can be.

I also noticed that my skin and hair felt a lot better. These are just a few of the effects that soft water has. It is a lot gentler on your hair and skin, providing a healthier glow to both of them than you would normally have with hard water.

Soft water can also help protect your appliances that use water. These build ups do not just affect your pipes but the actual appliances that use them. Using soft water can prevent such problems that hard water can cause.

Hard water has a lot of impurities so that when you drink it you are taking them into your body. By installing a water conditioning system in your home you can actually get rid of such impurities, and provide safer drinking water for your family.

Soft water cleans us better than hard water. Hard water has a reaction to soap, which is why the lather is never as full or bubbly with hard water. Soft water has no reaction and actually takes less soap, conditioner, and shampoo to get the job done than when you use hard water.

It is also known that clean water can actually clean better than hard water. The reason why this is so is because with hard water, the water itself has a reaction to soaps because of all of its impurities. That is why your soap tends to lather less in hard water than soft.

The only caution they give to soft water is for those who are to be on a low sodium diet because of the sodium levels in the soft water. Places like Salt Lake City, is known for it’s hard water. If you feel like soft water would be the right thing than check around and see what discounts and savings are in Utah on water conditioning.

What separates a swamp cooler from an air conditioner.

in Home & Family - Landscaping
by Lindsay Parker

Depending on which is right for your family, you might have been questioning whether or not it would be wise to get an air conditioner or swamp cooler. Both can work well but there are some things that will help you in your decision making process.

Many love the price and the deals they can get with swamp coolers. They work through using a fan and absorbing pads. The pads absorb water and as the air from the fan passes through it cools down.

Swamp coolers can be great because of the simplicity of them. All you need is the energy to keep the water pump and fan going to have your home cooled down. It usually doesn’t take that much water either.

There are a lot of down points to swamp coolers though. You have to keep a window open because of how humid your house will get. If you don’t have a window open you can face a rise in temperature in your home.

Another problem is that the air doesn’t always circulate throughout the entire house like you would want it to. Between this and the swamp cooler not dehumidifying is probably the reason why so many are turning to air conditioners.

Air conditioners on the other hand cool air through compressing cool Freon gas. This gas is then turned into a liquid that is cool and dehumidified. The air will be the perfect temperature and will circulate well through your home.

Swamp coolers are less expensive to buy and keep running. Air conditioners can be more expensive. Keep in mind the end results that you want when you are trying to figure out which one you prefer.

Contact a local retailer that will be able to help you find out what is best for your family. Search around and find great deals to cooling your home. You’re guaranteed to find something that will work perfectly for your home and family.
