During this age of the internet where very few people have issues about shopping online, most shoppers have found it faster and easier to order flowers online mainly because online florists have a larger catalog then local florists. And because of special relationships with flower growers, sending flowers online is also much more affordable. This also means that when you buy flowers online, you’ll get a fresh-cut flower gift that hasn’t been sitting around a florist’s shop for several days.

Valentine Day’s, Mother’s Day, and Christmas are the largest floral holidays, respectively. But floral gifts are often delivered for most major holidays or any special event that deserves celebration or remembrance.

Traditionally, red roses and rose bouquets are sent for Valentine Day. But you can spice up the Valentine’s gift by selecting roses of exotic colors. Consider this, your wife or girlfriend might prefer 24 long stem pastel roses instead of red roses. Also white, pink, peach, yellow and mini multi-colored roses generate a lasting impression if you know that is their favorite color.

Even though most deny it, men like to receive flowers delivered to as well. But depending on the man, you might send them a bonsai tree, bamboo zen garden, or a unique gift basket. Or you could send them birthday flowers that matches their hometown football or baseball team’s colors.

Mother’s Day is probably the busiest florist holiday of the year. So be sure to order your flowers at least 1 week in advance, if not more. In fact, most online flower shops will allow you to place flower delivery orders far in advance. So you can place your order now and rest easy, knowing you won’t be scrambling the Friday before Mother’s Day. At the very least, you can use your favorite florist’s reminder service and they will send you an email a week before. So then you can order Mothers Day flowers before they sell out.

In those delicate cases when you need funeral flowers and sympathy arrangements, you’ll want to consider where and when to send your condolences. The personality of the departed will determine your choice of calm pastel colors or brighter sympathy flowers. When in doubt, just let the florist select the most appropriate funeral flowers for the ceremonies. It’s also a compassionate tradition to send sympathy gift baskets to close friends and family who may need comforting.
