St. Patricks Day is taking over Jackson, Mississippi as the annual Mals St. Paddys Parade begins with a bang. Guests, visitors, spectators and enthusiasts are sure to flock again at this annual festive celebration. Greens, shamrocks, pots of gold, leprechauns and good luck symbols will once again flood this unique and exciting extravaganza.
Parades, musical and dance performances will be provided for the enjoyment of many. Talented performers with their colorful costumes will continue to grace this much awaited event. The Festival is annually held in honor of St. Patrick, as the patron saint of Ireland. The Irish style event is much celebrated in Jackson for there are a lot of Irish residents there.

He was also responsible to drive away all snakes in Ireland, an ancient symbol for paganism. Ireland was once a pagan country.
